A very enjoyable relaxed lesson. Elizabeth was very helpful and answered questions and gave plenty of advice. Only four people in the class which was lovely and friendly. Definitely recommend.

It was good. We arrived and got a complimentary drink. The teacher was very nice and friendly. We felt very welcome. The reason for giving 3 stars is that there was not that much structure (for example, not telling everyone to go wash their hands, or no formal introduction). For the amount that this class was, it was very undermining. I thought that the cake was going to be a bit bigger, we spent a lot of the time just waiting (for example for the clean up, or for bagging the icing when we could have done it ourselves as it is part of the decorating experience) or it could have been done prior. (For example there was only one cutting tool, which we all had to share and not enough spatulas- which i understand as its a bakery and they probably only need one/a couple tools... I would say that either the class was too big, or the price was too high given the limited equipment). On a positive note, there was a lot of decorations which were really cute, but there were no inspiration pictures printed out. Essencially, I do understand that this is a lot of preperation for one person to do prior, and obviously the clean up, however i do feel that the price was too high for what the class had to offer. In my opinion an £80pp class would have had a lot more preperation done and not have felt like just a way for the person to make some easy money on the side.

I booked this for my daughter’s 23rd birthday. It was a really lovely day out for both of us. It’s right behind Broadway market so on a Saturday you can do the market and lunch as well. The class is small (up to 6 people) and Elizabeth is very clear and patient with her instructions. You learn how to level a cake, cut it in half, fill it, do an initial layer of icing, do a second layer and decorate. You also get to practise different kinds of piping. And then you get a beautiful cake to take home. I’ve never made or decorated cakes myself before but it’s given me a lot of confidence to make them for birthdays etc in future. So much nicer than a shop-bought cake.

Elizabeth is a very good teacher. She is well organised and has lots of good tips on how to decorate cakes. She created a relaxed atmosphere and we had great fun trying out different techniques for prettifying our cakes. We are looking forward to the opportunity to attend a follow up course.
