This is a fun activity in Manchester

Looking for fun indoor activities? Create unique, one-of-a-kind prints using the alternative photography process of cyanotype in this three-hour Manchester workshop with Little Lion Studio.

Cyanotype is a simple yet versatile print making technique and is one of the oldest alternative photography techniques. We'll start by laying objects onto sensitised paper and exposing it to UV light revealing a completely one-of-a-kind print in a gorgeous cyan blue colour.

This is a fantastic technique for beginners as an introduction to print making and is suitable for anyone interested in alternative photography techniques. No experience in painting or drawing is necessary to enjoy this fascinating and relaxing workshop.

At the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your unique cyanotype prints, showcasing your newfound skills in alternative photography. Get ready to immerse yourself in a fun and fulfilling activity that'll get you feeling inspired.

Disability access: There is a lift to the left of the steps coming up from Great Bridgewater Street that can bring you up one floor, the venue is then to your left.

Rach was lovely and explained everything really well. It was a really fun evening and we came away with some nice prints. It was good to get outside to pick our flowers for the prints and to use natural sunlight. Rach provided everything we needed to make some lovely art and have a good time. Venue nice as well. Thanks Rach - I’ll definitely be back to do another workshop.

Amazing evening being creative. Rach created a lovely relaxing yet informative atmosphere. Great venue and lovely to walk away with art I've created, in a unique style I wouldn't have otherwise used.

I had an amazing time at the Cyanotype class, really loved it! . Rach was a great teacher, giving lots of information but in a relaxed way, making the whole session fun. After an introduction to the techniques, we were able to make our own artworks, and interpret them in any way we wanted, with Rach always on hand to help and give more ideas and inspiration. We ended up with lots of our own prints to take home. It has definitely inspired me to carry on at home. Would absolutely recommend Rach’s classes, so good.

Without a doubt, one of the best workshops I've done and really exceeded any expectations! Rachel was so lovely and a brilliant teacher. We felt like we learnt so much, but in a really relaxed way. There was lots of great input and support but also plenty of time for experimenting and self-led creations. We left feeling really inspired... thank you! :)

It was a mark of the professional and welcoming approach of Rach that my initial nerves soon disappeared. I enjoyed every moment of the workshop and look forward to the next one. Even at 76 it feels very satisfying to learn new creative skills and Rach certainly facilitated these very well indeed. Graham Mark Thompson.

This was a great workshop, thoroughly enjoyed it and was lead amazingly by Rach. They explained everything really clearly and were happy to answer any extra questions from the group. There was lots of resources to make beautiful prints and room for trail and error too! Would definitely recommend and do future workshops with Rach/little lion studio!
