I suppose I had different expectations for this class as I came away quite disappointed. We were given a short introduction into filigree history and the teacher also spent some time talking about what other workshops we can do (which honestly I found annoying as I paid to hear about filigree, not feather craft or enamel) - about 10-15 min or so, showed us how to roll some premade wire into an eye shape and left us to our own devices to fill the base form which was also premade. Another thing that I found really frustrating was that one of the employees there kept taking pictures of our workshop (really close up as well, to the point that it was distracting) without having first asked us for permission to do so. We didn't get to make the base or solder the filigree onto the base at the end. All you really do is roll some wire into shapes and glue it onto a piece of paper within the base provided (which I didn't find to be of very good quality). I was fairly content with how my shape looked like after filling it with filigree wire shapes. But after they soldered it, the base completely deformed, some of the filigree pieces inside melted/fell off and the end result was...underwhelming to say the least. The piece was also still a bit brown from soldering oxydation, so it had not been polished properly. They might have rushed to finish it before we left so we wouldn't have to return for it, but if they realized they didn't have enough time, I would have appreciated the honesty (and I could have come back for it at a later time) rather than being given a half finished piece. If we would have had the opportunity to make the base and solder the filigree ourselves (make the piece from scratch), I would not have cared as much if the final result was ugly, as I would have learned something. As it stands, I found the workshop horrible value for money. It might be entertaining for kids, but I wouldn't recommend it for adults.

I booked the filigree jewelry making class for my birthday and I loved it! Zoey was a great teacher who ran through the history and cultural significance of filigree jewelry then helped us bring our own designs to life. It's amazing to go into this class having never done anything like it and come out with beautifully intricate jewelry that you've made. It was made even more special when we found out Zoey is one of only 100 filigree jewelers in China and has won well-earned awards. The space was welcoming and peaceful with lots of different classes to choose from. All the staff are incredibly friendly and committed to ensuring you leave with something beautiful and unique. Thanks again, Zoey and team!

We loved the Filligree workshop, the owner was very passionate about the ancient chinese craft and she had a lot of information about it.

I really enjoyed my filigree workshop with Zoe. I learnt traditional techniques and Zoe was a great teacher. I will definitely do another workshop with Zoe. I came away with a beautiful silver filigree pendant which I am very pleased with, and I am looking forward to practicing filigree in my own workshop.
