Create your own perfectly fitting top & sleeve blocks in this 2 day workshop. Join us for a fun and inclusive course of pattern drafting as I guide you through the process of creating your own top blocks based on your unique measurements which you can use to make endless variations of tops & blouses. We'll then make a toile to test the fit and transfer these adjustments to your patterns. From there we'll draft a sleeve block, and finally we'll look at design adaptations so that you can move the darts, add gathers, pleats or style lines for your desired design.
In this welcoming and supportive environment, you'll learn the fundamentals of pattern drafting, from taking accurate measurements to translating them into a custom top & sleeve pattern. I will be by your side every step of the way, offering personalised guidance and tips to ensure your patterns fit like a dream.

Please bear in mind for this workshop we'll be mostly standing on the first day, working at the cutting table with small parts of the day seated for sewing or breaks.
You are welcome to bring lunch (there is a fridge, microwave, cutlery and kettle available to use) or there are a large choice of cafes on Easter Road, a 2-minute walk away! Tea, coffee, and sweet snacks will be provided. You will be welcome to stay in the studio for lunch and/or return to continue your patterns at any time.
