Is this pottery class suitable for beginners?
- Our pottery lessons are aimed at beginners and no prior experience is needed as you will be taught basic handbuilding and sculpting techniques. However, it's intended to be a fun session and all levels are welcome.

What age is this pottery workshop aimed at?
- While the class is aimed at adults, age 8+ years can attend. Anyone under 12 years will need to be accompanied by a paying participating adult who can provide additional assistance if required.

What should I wear to a pottery class?
- Playing with clay can be messy as you're effectively playing with mud! Like mud, clay and our underglazes wash easily out of clothing but we advise wearing something comfortable that you don't mind getting mucky. Also, feel free to bring an apron.

Will I get to use underglazes on my piece?
- If time allows and your piece is stable and dry enough you may be able to add colour during the class with our pottery underglazes. If it's not possible your instructor will go through the options of painting it at a later date or you can decide to go au-natural and have it clear glazed.

Do you sell food and drink or can I bring my own?
- We sell cold drinks which are available to purchase but do not allow you to consume your own food and drink on our premises - with the exception of alcoholic drinks on our Sip and Paint and event nights.

What should I be aware of?
- Due to the nature of clay, problems can arise such as cracks and pieces becoming detached during the making, drying and firing process. Instruction is given on how to minimise issues. If, in the unfortunate event, something happens to your piece, we will do our best to fix it but please be aware it's not always possible.

Spaces are limited so don’t miss out on the opportunity to make your own Highland Cow from clay and book your spot now!

Loved doing this workshop. Great tutor, worked just at the right pace, very knowledgeable, explained why we were doing the different steps, was there to answer any queries but let us just get on when the time was right. Can't wait to see the finished project - hoping the kiln God will be kind.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Highland Cow pottery class. The teacher explained everything in detail. Thanks to her guidance, even with no experience in pottery making, the cows turned out to look really good. Highly recommend if you want to try something new and have a lot of fun.

I had a submitted a request for a private Highland Cow Pottery Class. Class Benito responded to my request saying "Great News - Pottery Class Highland Cow is available for booking at your ...." so I click on the book now rather than scrolling down the rest of the email where I would have found that they could not in fact accommodate a private lesson but what was being offered was a group lesson. Unfortunately when opening email on phone only the bit saying it was available with a link was visible and I was soo excited at it being available I clicked on the link and booked. If I had opened the email on a laptop or computer I would have seen that the venue were saying they could not accommodate a private lesson as they had moved their group lesson to that date and time and I could book on to that. If i had seen that message I would NOT have booked onto a group session and would have gone back to the venue asking them to provide dates when they could do a private lesson. Class Benito should have responded that it wasn't available as what I requested was not available. I was therefore disappointed when we arrived and found we were in a class of 9 people which for a craft lesson where the owner said they operate on small numbers was quite a lot more than the small numbers of 5 or 6 maximum I would have expected. Our instructor was friendly and helpful and explained things well allowing everyone to progress at their own speed. All materials and tools were provided to create your Highland Cow. The area was sufficient for the activity. I personally found the head the most difficult part and if it had been a private class I would have asked for support/advice from the instructor but as it was a group lesson didn't feel it appropriate or feel confident enough to ask. Whilst the group was not rushed at all by the instructor, the fact of being in a group made me want to finish as soon as I could which is a shame as I think if it had been a private lesson it would have been less stressful/more relaxing. If it had been a private class I would have rated it a 5 Star but unfortunately as it was a group lesson I had to rate as 4 star but for someone who is happy in group lessons I am sure they would rate 5 star. I feel bad for docking a star as the fault lies, in my opinion, with Class Benito rather than the venue but I personally didn't have a 5 star experience due to the stress of being in a group.
