Clunie is an excellent teacher and she made this whole day very special. She is constantly checking after everyone, very kind and respectful. With just a handfull of students in her small workshop, you couldn't ask for a better setup for an introduction to ornemental wood carving, really. Hard to not think of buying a piece of wood and 2 chisels after leaving her class.. Thank you Clunie!

A great one-day workshop. Clunie was a superb teacher, offering very clear demonstrations and encouraging support throughout. There was a good balance between exercises to practice core techniques, and the freedom to come up with and work on your own creative designs in the afternoon.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the days course. Neither of us had any prior carving experience, but that didnt matter, Clunie is not only a skilled artist but a very good teacher. It was a friendly informative and relaxed atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a go. Nathan.

An amazing workshop day taught by the wonderful and talented Clunie Fretton. A perfect balance of theory (learning about wood grain, wood types, tools and various techniques), hands-on practice as well as one to one feedback! After walking through some fundamental mark making/carving we applied what we had learnt to a personal project which was great to build our own confidence and enhanced our own individual creativity. Sharing the class with individuals who shared a passion for craft was a lovely environment to work in and really made the whole experience very enjoyable; sharing ideas and friendly group conversation over multiple cups of workshop brewed tea! I highly recommend this workshop, whether you are looking to try woodcarving for the first time or if you have prior experience, you will walk away inspired. I am excited to continue practicing and I hope to be back for another class soon!
