This is a fun activity in Henley-in-Arden, Birmingham

During this two-and-a-half-hour workshop you will create a fused glass candle shade plus a small extra item of your choice. Your hand-decorated glass panel will be placed in front of a tea light holder, allowing candlelight to shine through.
PLEASE NOTE: your finished piece may be attached to a glass tea-light holder or placed in a wooden stand with space for a tea-light (subject to stock and availability).

We will start with an introduction to all things glass, including all the exciting elements you will use to create your piece - glass ‘stringers’, paints, frit (tiny granules of glass) - all in a myriad of colours! I will also guide you through some techniques to create your unique candle shade.

This workshop is perfect for beginners as no cutting is involved. However, if you want to have a little practice, there is plenty of time to guide you through the cutting technique. And if you’re not new to glass fusing, then feel free to be as creative as you wish!

There will also be time to make a little extra something - perhaps a pendant, a key ring, or a mini hanging piece - I will bring some examples to help you decide.

Your finished pieces will be fired in my kiln and returned within 7 days to the venue for collection.

Tea/coffee and biscuits are provided to fuel your creativity! Alternatively, if you book a place on the workshop at the Kings Heath venue your price includes a delicious cream tea.

Brilliant class, I loved it. Two hours was just enough time to make a tealight glass but I could have easily stayed for longer. Very easy to follow and join in with no experience. Here's my effort pre-firing.

Excellent class, Sue is a wonderful teacher. She explained everything clearly, allowed us to cut our own glass shards and create designs all with her help and support. Thoroughly enjoy this workshop and will recommend. Looking forward to seeing the fired and final product. Photos are before firing.
