Join us for an immersive beginners' watercolour class, where you can discover the beauty of this medium in just 1.5 hours. Our expert tutor Ann Mackowski, featured on Landscape Artist of the Year and an exhibitor with the prestigious Royal Watercolour Society, will guide you through techniques and provide all necessary materials. Unleash your creativity and learn from the best in this intensive and inspiring art experience.
We'll start with simple exercises designed to get even the most novice of art-makers started, learning how to glaze, wash, blend, dry brush, and work wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry using vibrant watercolours. You'll build up a beautiful sampler of all the techniques you can use that you can take home to use as a reference!
Midway through, we'll have a tea break with biscuits and a chance to get to know your fellow artists!
Next, we'll move along to a paint-along demonstration with Ann. You'll be amazed at the effects you'll be able to create with the medium as a novice, and from this part will also have a wonderful watercolour painting to take home and proudly display on your wall.
Finally, you will be given a choice of props - real fruit, flowers, and intriguing objects, and given time to create your very own still life! Don't worry, you'll get plenty of pointers about composition, and throughout the process of painting, you'll receive one-on-one attention so you can make the most out of your masterpiece.
