Looking to explore your love of pottery making in Manchester? During the session, you will be given an introduction to Raku firing and invited to surface decorate 2-3 pots using a variety of methods to experience a range of results. You will be glazing and firing pottery from a selection of pre-made items.
Raku firing is the term given to a type of low-firing process that was inspired by traditional Japanese Raku firing. Western-style Raku involves removing pottery from the kiln while at bright red heat and placing it into containers with combustible materials such as straw, leaves, etc. This is a very exciting pottery process that gives fast results and amazing effects.
