This is a fun activity in Fitzrovia, London

In this tranquil ikebana workshop in London, you'll learn the art of Ikebana, a centuries-old Japanese flower arranging technique. You'll create your own miniature masterpiece using just a few stems and minimal flowers, embracing the beauty of simplicity and nature.

Don't worry if you've never tried Ikebana before - this class is designed to be a mindful and relaxing experience for all skill levels. As you arrange your flowers, you'll find yourself slipping into a meditative state, focusing on the present moment and the natural beauty before you.

The class follows the Ohara School of Ikebana, one of the most popular among over 400 schools in Japan and widely respected around the world. You'll begin with a demonstration, then move on to a hands-on creation session. Throughout the process, your teacher will guide you, offering personalised feedback to help refine your arrangement.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have gained a new skill that allows you to bring a touch of Japanese aesthetics into your home. You'll leave with your own Ikebana creation, a physical reminder of the peace and focus you experienced during the class.

This rejuvenating activity takes place every Sunday in Bloomsbury, London, offering a perfect way to round off your week and prepare for the one ahead.

Please note that there will be no classes on (Sunday) 30th March 2015, please do not book for that day. Thank you for your patience.

Anli was a great teacher, carefully explaining the history and theories behind Ohara Ikebana before we got stuck in ourselves. A very calming class - thoroughly enjoyed making our floral art.

Anli is a great teacher. We started with a short introduction of ikebana and the different forms, then Anli demonstrated Rising Form (first class) for us, explaining the different considerations we need to make. Then, we were given our own materials to go through it as well. She would provide feedback as we were doing it and then once completed, gave us feedback and made adjustments to our displays. It was such a lovely time and my partner and I left feeling quite relaxed. Thank you so much, Anli!
