This is a fun activity in Canary Wharf, London

Learn to make a zero-waste cross-body, tote bag or travel pouch. Cloth for use is made up of our studio off-cuts or found broken umbrellas, though you are welcome to bring your own half-metre of cloth and any specific haberdashery you wish to use. This class is for complete beginners as a great first class to practice your sewing skills. The ability to complete this in the time depends on the quickness and accuracy in completing each stage.

This class is for all genders and ages. Choose from 1 to 1 or 2-person group class.

Bring a readiness to learn and maybe a notebook. You will enjoy a pleasant environment with a patient tutor near Canning Town station. Your teacher Claire will provide all the equipment you need and will adapt the class based on your abilities. With 6+ years experience teaching sewing skills and 15+ years experience in sewing, garment construction and alterations, Claire is well equipped to take you on your sewing journey.

Please note:

- The best transport links are Canning Town station and the D3 bus stop Leamouth/ Orchard Place.

Claire is a fantastic teacher. She made things really easy to understand and as someone who’s never done anything like this I now feel confident to go ahead and master the basics we went over. Thanks Claire!

Had such a nice day at The Ethical Tailor workshop, so looking forward to completing my tote bag in the nicely lit and interesting studio and learning more about sewing, from Claire :) Parking was nearby and not far to walk from there.

Claire is absolutely fantastic. Knowledge, kind, warm, and patient. She tailored the class to my needs. I came out having learned stuff, with a little actual pouch, and a project to continue on next time. Would totally recommend!
