Throughout the workshop, you'll grasp the intricacies of creating, maintaining, and baking with your very own sourdough. - With a hands approach, no question will be left unanswered as we guide you through the entire bread making process. - Immerse yourself in the discussion on the significance of different flours and familiarise yourself with essential baker’s terminology and tool recommendations.
What to expect at this workshop:
- You will learn everything about how to build, maintain and bake with your own sourdough starter.
- You will have the chance to go through the entire bread making process together with me and ask all your questions.
- We will chat about the importance of the flours in the process.
- We will cover baker’s language and the list of tools you might consider using.
- We will bake some loaves and also some focaccia to enjoy for lunch.

You will take home:
- A sourdough starter.
- The bread dough you’ll make on the day to bake at home.
- A proofing basket, a scraper and scoring knife.
- Emailed an easy step by step guide.
- Water, coffee, tea & light lunch will be provided.

As we bake, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of sourdough that is perfect for novices and enthusiasts alike. Expect a warm and welcoming environment where you can fully indulge in the experience. - By the end of the class, you'll not only leave with new skills and knowledge but also a sourdough starter and bread dough ready to be baked at home. - Additionally, you'll take home a proofing basket, scraper, scoring knife, and receive an easy-to-follow guide via email for future reference.

I was a complete novice to bread making , although others in the small class (5) were not. However it made no difference as Sophia had the patience and time to go through every process as often as needed. Had great fun , learnt loads and cooked my sourdough loaf that night. Going to keep feeding my starter mix and keep on baking !
