This is a fun activity in Bristol

Dive into the world of pottery with this fun and relaxed mug-making workshop! Perfect for beginners or anyone who's dabbled with clay before, this class lets you get hands-on while enjoying a drink and learning a bit about ceramics. You'll have the chance to shape your very own unique mug, adding your personal touch every step of the way.

Once your masterpiece is complete, you’ll get to paint it using a variety of colourful slips, giving your mug that extra pop of personality. After that, your piece will be left to dry, then bisque fired, glazed, and fired once more to ensure it's dishwasher safe and ready for use. Your mug will be available for collection in about 4-6 weeks – and trust us, it’ll be worth the wait!

This workshop is all about having fun with clay, whether you're flying solo or bringing a group for a special occasion. Get creative, relax, and make something truly special! Can't collect immediately? Don't worry – your creations will be kept at the studio for up to 6 weeks after they’re ready for collection.

Great fun - all of our group enjoyed the session and it was nice to have instructions given then support as needed but also to be left to get on with the activity ourselves.

I had such a great time at the hand-building pottery class! It was so satisfying to shape and personalise my own mug from scratch. I left feeling inspired—and can’t wait to see my finished piece after firing. Highly recommend for a fun, hands-on experience!

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon! We made a mug by hand and decorated the item afterwards. Lots of tools and paint colours to choose from. You are given plenty of time at each stage. The teacher gave clear instructions and demonstrated each step. She was also on hand for any questions or assistance. Great fun!

Lovely session, my group had a great time and all managed to make lovely mugs even though it was the very first time for most of them. Tutor was very helpful and approachable. Thank you!

Had great time. Teacher was good at explaining things step by step. Felt like I was rushing a bit with painting because of time. Wish it was longer.

As someone who is incredibly un-crafty I really enjoyed this class! Making a mug from scratch feels advanced but the teacher took everything at a great pace and set everyone at ease. I loved the comradery you build on the table when you're all trying to craft together! Will definitely be back :)
