Learn wire forming techniques and cabochon stone setting on this three hour silver jewellery making course.

You will be gently guided through a multitude of silver jewellery techniques to enable you to make a pendant or pair of earrings in wire and add a pre made stone setting to your design.

You will learn how to:

Form wire using pliers, mallets and formers
File wire to create good connections for soldering
Solder your forms and cabochon stone setting
Sand your work to create even surfaces
Set a cabochon stone into your work
Polish your piece
Materials: 15cm of wire, a bezel cup and a gemstone are included in the course fee

“5☆ really good workshop, excellent tutor, lovely materials to incorporate into own or suggested designs, pleasant work spaces. HOWEVER - not enough time to complete our piece! Course overran by 40 mins and luckily everyone was able to stay including tutor who was needlessly apologetic as it was fine. We were told previously the course ran for 1hr longer. Wouldn't have minded paying for longer as made a wearable pendant but couldn't embellishand finish as I had hoped. Took the wire bits I cut to size and will superglue in place to complete the piece Could have been much more satisfying.”

“Was great having the freedom to make whatever, class size felt a little too big in order for instructor to get around everyone. Felt the price of metal shouting have been included in the workshop costs. Being told you had to start with copper before you could Love onto silver but having to pay the cost of materials when testing felt a bit of a con . Not that it was expensive but it felt because it wasn’t expensive it was money pinching to just make extra bits here and there ! Instructor really lovely and helpful. Think there should have been an opportunity for refreshments as it got hot and there was nothing”
