Absolutely loved the footstool class, I bought this as a gift for my mum and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try upholstery. Ruth was amazing and explained everything in small steps, nothing was too much trouble and we never felt rushed or under any pressure. We both came away not only with an amazing footstool (which I still can’t believe I made myself) but we had a great afternoon and learned a new skill which we feel we could use again. Thank you Ruth and I am sure we will be back to another workshop x

I attended Ruths upholstery class with my mum and had a fantastic experience. The class was held in a relaxed welcoming environment with a small group, which made it very comfortable and enjoyable. Ruth is a confident and supportive teacher who explains each step clearly and offers help whenever needed. The class is well structured for beginners, with everyone working at the same pace making it easy to follow and very enjoyable. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day, with plenty of conversation and Ruth made everyone feel included and at ease. I really enjoyed expressing myself creatively and was proud of the finished piece I created. All equipment is provided. You only need to bring your fabric ( this is fun to see everyone’s choices and originality) Tea, cakes, snacks, and a friendly atmosphere were included too. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in upholstery and wish Ruth every success in this venture. Thanks for having us xx

I have had a fantastic time learning to upholster a footstool. Ruth is a wonderful teacher who puts you at ease instantly. She is clear in her direction, patient and never rushes or leaves you waiting. She creates an environment that encourages strangers to chat, learn and skill share. I absolutely love my footstool. Thankyou so much for a great day.

What an amazing workshop! Ruth was so knowledgeable, inviting and made the whole experience so enjoyable. Amongst those present there was a varied level of skills and abilities but the way the workshop was structured no one felt left out or that they couldn’t do each step. Ruth engaged with everyone to their abilities and because of this the whole class worked on each stage together. The quality of the tools provided were great, with enough for everyone to have their own set (and the tape measures we got to keep is really cool and will be useful). I look forward to be able to purchase a kit set in the future. The way Ruth delivered the workshop was the perfect balance of professional and fun with some great laughs along the way. To have had all this and the amazing footstool (which I’m currently using as I write this) at the end made this a great afternoon of crafting and making memories. I would HIGHLY recommend this workshop to anyone who is looking for something different to do, you’ll learn some great skills that can be used time and time again and have a great laugh in the process!! Thank you Ruth!!

Ruth is an amazing teacher, and you can tell she has a real passion for making and for teaching others. She made the session very welcoming — warm, friendly, and took the time to get to know everyone in the class. When we arrived, everything was ready for us. Each station had a footstool base and a kit bag with all the equipment needed, including aprons, gloves, glue guns, staple guns, fabric shears, and more. Ruth took time to explain how the bases were made and the benefits of the materials she’d used. It was a lovely touch to learn that she and her husband make them by hand. The class was split into easy-to-follow stages, with Ruth demonstrating each step and then walking around as we tried it ourselves, offering help and tips along the way. She was clearly very knowledgeable and experienced — there wasn’t a single problem she couldn’t come up with a solution for. My partner and I were really pleased with the stools we made. They look absolutely amazing, and we’re genuinely proud of them. The class is an ideal activity for couples, friends, or even solo. It had a really fun, friendly atmosphere, and we’d highly recommend it.
