This is a fun activity in Forest Gate, London
Important venue update: All workshops will take place at our new studio at 377 Station Road, Forest Gate.
Join us and delve into the fascinating world of ceramic medieval face jugs! We will explore their history and culture and take inspiration from the silly expressions and playful details the medieval potters put into their jugs.
The tutor will guide you through the process of creating your own face jug. You will learn how to manipulate the clay into your desired shape, followed by how to add detail and texture. Whether you are an experienced potter or a complete beginner, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn and experiment with new skills.
The workshop will last 3 hours, and you will be required to return to the studio 6 weeks later to collect your jugs once they've been fired in the kiln. Postage is available at extra cost.
We use studio recycled clay and glaze for this class, you will be able to choose a glaze colour from our current selection, and your piece will be glazed for you.
Please note: We strive to help you create something amazing during your pottery class. Because each piece is handmade and involves many variables (such as clay handling, glaze, and firing conditions), we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements for defects or damages that occur in items you’ve made.
