This is a fun activity in Forest Gate, London
Important venue update: All workshops will take place at our new studio at 377 Station Road, Forest Gate.
Looking to advance your pottery skills? With this glaze making class you learn a whole new step in the process of creating beautiful ceramics. Learn the science behind creating glazes from raw materials and understanding glaze recipies.
You will have your own test tile where you will create 10 different colour glaze tests with different oxide additions. To be fired to Cone 6 (1220C)
You will learn about glaze chemistry, adding colour to glaze, the difference between matte and glossy glaze, how to mix glaze and how to test your glazes.
You will be taught to identify common glaze flaws and how to avoid them.
The Workshop will last 3 hours, and you will be required to return to the studio 6 weeks later to collect your tiles once they've been fired in the kiln. Postage at an extra cost is available.
Please note: We strive to help you create something amazing during your pottery class. Because each piece is handmade and involves many variables (such as clay handling, glaze, and firing conditions), we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements for defects or damages that occur in items you’ve made.
