In this ceramic hand-building class, we will explore the oldest forms of pottery, ancient female deities.

Together with our tutor, you will understand:

- The history of ceramic female deities
- How to come up with your design
- How to shape and form your object using pinching techniques
- How to ensure your design is functional
- How to decorate your object with different colours clay engobe

After the class, your piece will be fired and glazed for you. You will have a choice of transparent glaze or our recycled glazes (which change throughout the year). You will need to return to collect your work 3-4 weeks post class, postage at extra cost is available.

The class uses entirely recycled clay and glazes from the studio. We encourage thoughtful making and ask you only to keep the ceramic pieces you are most happy with.

Please note: We strive to help you create something amazing during your pottery class. Because each piece is handmade and involves many variables (such as clay handling, glaze, and firing conditions), we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements for defects or damages that occur in items you’ve made.

I absolutely loved this class. Didn’t know what to expect but Sorrel was incredibly informative, supportive and reassuring. There was an initial intro into the material, tools, paints and also great source material to speak the imagination. It was a small group and I felt there was no pressure, and the pace was just right. Such a lovely intro back into ceramics - will definitely do another one!

We absolutely loved it! The teacher was great, we had all the necessary tools and she gave us all the individual attention we needed. She had information about different Goddesses from various parts of the world. She was really clear on what was needed for the statue to be structurally working. A fantastic workshop if you are interested in archeology, paganism or Goddess loving. It was fun, engaging and super creative. So well done!
