This is a fun activity in Stoke Newington, London
At Dalston Clay we get very excited about the possibilities of glaze and so we encourage you to take your ceramics practice further by returning to glaze your work to see for yourself!
Glaze is a slurry of glass-forming chemicals that, when applied to bisque ware (bisque fired) and then fired a second time (glaze fired), produces a glassy, food-safe surface; often with funky effects!
Our glazing tutorial is a guided session that begins half an hour (6 pm) before the evening session (6.30 pm). This provides time for us to lead you through the options and techniques available before you choose from our extensive range of beautiful brush-on glazes (included) and settle down to glaze your work.
After you have finished glazing you are welcome to join the evening session (6.30 - 9pm) free of charge
Note: If you do not have anything to glaze or your work did not make it through the bisque fire, you can have a look through our boxes of unclaimed bisque ware to find something you like (free of charge).
