This is a fun activity in Adlington, Manchester

Special one for the solo folks only…

If you are solo, fatigued with dating culture, and want to simply meet new people in a relaxed and fun environment - this one's for you.

DOLO is a new social community for solo adults in Macclesfield and surrounding areas who want to meet new people, try new things, and enjoy a richer social life - without the pressure of dating culture.

This class was requested by the DOLO community, so most attendees will be members - but they're extending the invite to any other curious solo folk out there who'd like to join in.

What to expect on the night...

Book directly by clicking the 'Buy' button, or join DOLO to get a discount for this class only.

Please note that this is for single people only.

In this cooking class experience, you will learn how to make a semolina-based pasta, no eggs in this one.

You will start by kneading the dough, a gentle workout, and a chance to chatter as you knead.

The dough will then need a little rest, giving time to make and compare two pestos; the traditional Genovese Basil Pesto and a seasonal one.

You will then have the opportunity to do some blind olive oil tasting, an experience in itself; providing skill and knowledge for life.

By now, the dough will have rested, the prep is done, and you can relax, gather around the table creating and shaping your pasta. There will be at least 3 different pasta shapes. Firstly trofie, which is a short thin twisted pasta that originates from Liguria in Northern Italy, traditionally paired with the world-famous Genovese pesto. You will also learn how to make the orecchiette; little ear shapes, traditionally from the South of Italy and Cavatelli also from the south of Italy. The shaping of the pasta is a wonderful time, it brings out the chatter and conversations flow.

Finally, you will learn some top tips on how to cook the pasta pesto the traditional Italian way.

Of course, you get to eat, taste, and delight in a truly homemade Italian meal.

Please feel free to BYO drink to enjoy with your meal, or even a glass while you shape your pasta!

Throughout the experience, you will be receiving several hints, tricks, and food inspiration.

Along with your pasta to complete the meal, there will be a green salad, fresh olives, and the wonderful Sourdough bread.

*Let me know if you have any dietary requirements, and we can discuss the ingredients.

DOLO members - once booked please remember to mark yourself as 'Going' to this event within the DOLO platform.

Another hugely enjoyable cooking experience led expertly by Jinny. She makes the sessions fun, is never judgemental and always provides encouragement and positivity to everyone, plus there is always the bonus of pride in producing your very own delicious food and learning how to achieve when you go solo.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. It was my first experience of a cookery class and most certainly won’t be my last. The class consisted of ten of us which I would say was just about right. Not only was it about learning new skills, it was about doing it in a social way in a lovely environment. Well done and many thanks.
