5 Rating 2 Reviews
Read ClassBento UK Reviews

This is a fun activity in Colindale, London

In this two and a half hour workshop, you will learn how to hand build a mug using the slab technique (rolling the clay thinly and using it to form a mug and handle).

We will have antique lace, stamps, leaves, carving tools available to allow you to make a unique, bespoke creation that you will be able to use and cherish.

You are welcome to bring your favourite fine lace or stamps, but there’ll be a wide range available at the workshop.

Your tutor will demonstrate each stage of the process and the small group size allows for plenty of support and guidance. Our tutors are experienced at teaching people of all abilities.

Book as an individual (and be sure of a friendly, warm welcome), or gather a group for a fun activity together.

After the workshop, your tutor will dry, fire and glaze your mug in a glaze you’ve chosen from our studio range. It will be ready for collection from the Maxability studio in 4 weeks.

Important note:
- There is a minimum of 3 participants required before the class can take place.
- The minimum guest age is 14 years old.
- Guests under the age of 16 years old, must be accompanied by an adult.

I went to a pottery class last Saturday, 4th October, and I really enjoyed it. The teacher, Suzanna, was very entertaining and taught me how to make a mug. It was such an inspiring course — kind of like a yoga class. I felt all my daily stress melt away, and during the week after, I felt so refreshed. I definitely recommend trying this course, especially with Suzanna. No matter how old you are, it’s not just for children — and I promise you’ll feel different when you get back home afterward.

Absolutely delightful morning spent slab building a mug. Suzanne was really lovely and patient. Explained and demonstrated every stage in detail. Looking forward to seeing my finished piece
