Hosted by Shirley, creator of a signature Jollof paste inspired by traditional West African recipes, this experience invites you to connect through flavour, creativity, and shared moments. Whether you’re planning a unique date, celebrating something special, or just looking for a meaningful way to spend time together, you’ll feel right at home.

You’ll be guided step by step through cooking authentic Jollof rice, learning how to balance spices, build depth of flavour, and master the techniques behind this iconic dish. Along the way, Shirley shares cultural insights that bring the food to life.

Shirley was an amazing teacher - she was very patient and kind but also allowed us to have the independence to curate our dish the way that we wanted to. The space was very chic and cosy for a small group and she had it set up with everything that we needed to make the jollof. She also gave us a very informative history lesson about the origins of jollof making and the ways that different cultures do it. The session was very beginner friendly and I learned a lot about making jollof! I would definitely recommend the session.

Me and my son booked in for this class and Shirley was very friendly, helpful and thorough. We were successful in cooking jollof rice first time round with Shirley assistance and learnt many techniques along the way. It was a great class and I would highly recommend it. Me and my son had lots of fun and it was a great opportunity to bond together. Thank you again Shirley.

Recently attended Shirley's jollof cooking course and it was absolutely amazing! Shirley was a fantastic host, so warm, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. She created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. Before, my jollof came out more like porridge, but Shirley’s jollof paste makes cooking jollof rice quicker, so much easier and healthier, and I learned lots of new and useful tips along the way. I went with my mum and it turned into such a lovely bonding day for us. We had so much fun, got to take home a few tubs of the paste, and enjoyed a banging lunch at the end. Would definitely recommend!

The class was very nice and well organized. It was a small group with just me and my partner, which made the experience very personal and relaxed. The teacher was friendly and explained everything clearly, and the food turned out great. As a bonus, we also received a goodie bag with the jollof paste to take home. Overall, a great experience that I would definitely recommend.

Shirley was amazing - so warm and welcoming. She taught us so much about the origins of Jollof rice and helped us find our own flavours. The Jollof paste made everything so easy too. A really lovely, intimate experience that I would recommend to others.

This is a class that one must take! My partner and I attended Shirley's class and we're blown away by how easy it was to cook Jollof using her Jollof paste. It is revolutionary indeed. The Jollof paste can be used with anything like chicken marinade and used for stir-fry and spaghetti. Shirley's instructions were clear and she is very easy to talk to. Make sure you ask her about the origin of the Jollof paste cause her story is inspiring. Instead of cooking Jollof rice for 2 hours now it's cut down to 30 minutes using a rice cooker. I definitely am recommending this class to everyone I know and would even take it again. Worth the money for sure!

Shirley was amazing and so lovely! We went through the whole journey of how Jollof Rice arrived in the spotlight of the world kitchen. I could ask all the questions I had and Shirley answered them all perfectly. You can really sense how she enjoys what she does. In the end I left with a happy heart and amazing Jollof Rice. Thanks to the paste and her teaching I will now intend to cook Jollof Rice - and other dishes - many many many times with the paste. Thank you Shirley for this unique and lovely experience!
