Join us for a warm and welcoming hands-on workshop where you'll find out how to follow a crochet pattern and shape your work. This event is perfect for anyone who knows the crochet basics (chain, double or treble stitch) and wants to learn how to take their crochet skills to the next level. If you lack these skills, they can be learned in one of our Learn to Crochet courses.
In this class, you will learn how to:
- Make a magic circle (also known as the magic ring), the technique used for most three-dimensional crochet pieces (including amigurumi, the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed creatures).
- Increase and decrease using either double or treble stitch.
- Read and understand a crochet pattern so that you can decipher abbreviations, symbols, crochet diagrams, and stitch combinations.
- Join your hearts together.
In this class, you will have the opportunity to put your new skills into practice by creating crochet hearts, which can be used to make bunting or a lavender scent bag. You will also be given a resource sheet so you continue practicing at home.
