This is a fun activity in Bath

Join artist Tansy Tester for a hands-on workshop where you will explore the art of relief casting using fresh flowers and natural objects. In this session, you'll learn how to create intricate and textured plaster casts, transforming your chosen objects into beautiful, lasting plaques.

You will learn how to roll clay, arrange your chosen flowers, mix plaster, and clean and refine your plaster casts. A variety of flowers will be available for casting. You will be guided through the process with step-by-step instructions and helpful tips to create your own unique work of art. By the end of the workshop, you'll have your own cast, ready to display, showcasing the fascinating details of the flowers you’ve chosen.

This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in exploring new techniques or creating one-of-a-kind pieces, whether you're a beginner, an experienced artist, or looking for a meaningful gift for a loved one. All materials are provided, so you can focus entirely on your creative process.

There will be a break midway through the lesson to allow your plaster casts to set. Tea, coffee will be provided.

Planning a birthday or hen do? This workshop is available for private parties or small groups of two or more, on a date that suits you. Relax, have fun, and create a beautiful keepsake to take home! There are also options to BYOB or include a glass of prosecco with private bookings. Please message to enquire if you’d like to add this to your class. I had absolutely no idea what to expect coming into this class, but it turned out to be the best workshop experience I’ve ever had. The flower casting workshop is such a unique and memorable experience. I was lucky to be the only participant today, and despite that, Tansy never rushed the process. She took her time to explain each step clearly and was incredibly patient as I slowly brought my vision to life. While waiting for the clay to dry, we had lovely conversations about her other art sculptures, and it was inspiring to hear about her creative journey. Tansy is an exceptionally talented artist, and it was a real privilege to learn from her. I’d 1000% recommend this workshop to anyone — it’s truly one of a kind and perfect for both individuals and groups.

What a fantastic flower casting workshop! Tansy was absolutely lovely – both as a teacher and to chat with. She was so thoughtful, even sending us home with a bunch of flowers alongside our beautiful castings. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience of casting, which has inspired me further on my creative journey. It was such a wonderful way to spend a few hours in great company and with the brilliant Tansy. I would highly recommend this workshop!

It was an amazing workshop! We booked a private session for me and my 10-year-old daughter during the summer holidays so we could spend more time together. We enjoyed it so much and came away feeling inspired. Tansy was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for the beautiful flowers at the end of the workshop. Both photos are from the first day — these flower castings will dry within 7 days, becoming lighter in colour, after which we’ll clean them and hang them on our wall

Fantastic workshop. Tansy is a great teacher and very encouraging. My friend and I booked this last minute. So glad we did as we got to try our hand at something we wouldn’t have thought to do at home. We’ve got a lovely flower cast as a reminder of our 40th weekend away. Thank you.
