This is a fun activity in Leeds

Ready to unwind? Visit our painting space, where you can come and decorate your own chosen piece (or pieces!) of eco-resin homeware! Choose two items from plant pots, trinket trays, candle holders, vases and seasonal decorations.

You'll arrive in our painting space, much like a pottery cafe (but eco-resin rather than pottery!), where you will be seated in your group at a table. You're able to go and choose two pieces to paint in our selection of homewares, and your ticket includes all the paints and accessories you'll need to decorate it. You'll have an hour and a half (90 minutes) to enjoy your painting session!

This is a little different than pottery painting, as your homeware is made from eco-resin and does not need to be fired after you've painted it; once the paint is dry, you can use it at home right away! (Please note, finished creations need to be treated with care as they're hand-painted).

Please note the following:

- This is NOT pottery, as such as not food-safe or waterproof by default. You'll be provided with a take-home gloss kit at our shop that makes the items water resistant. We recommend bringing your own bag where possible.

- You must arrive at the start of your session time; otherwise, you won't be given your full 90-minute slot.

- The minimum age is 16 years old. Please don't be offended if we ask to verify the age of your children, our insurance requires us to make sure everyone is the right age to have a good crafty time!

- You will be sat within your booking group, so please be aware if you book alone, you may be seated alone or with another group.

- You can also purchase additional homewares on the day if you'd like to paint more than two!

- While you're with us, you're able to order hot drinks (at an extra charge) from the neighbouring coffee shops. We don't allow you to bring any food in that hasn't been purchased from the coffee shops within the shopping arcade.

- You'll have gloves at your disposal to prevent any mess.

- You can leave your piece with us to dry (you have up to 2 weeks to collect) or you can take it home immediately!

- We are a shop open to the public. There may be other painting groups within your time slot or other workshops happening simultaneously in the space, so you won’t have the space to yourself, but you’ll have your table to enjoy your experience!

It was an amazing chill back self session. 1 and a half hour was enough time for myself and my friend to paint and decorate our new trinket pieces. We both had a wonderful time!

Really enjoyed attending studio dawn for a pottery painting session, amazing quality pieces and such a great price and you don’t have to come back and collect your pieces as they don’t need a kiln. The staff were lovely and it’s such a cute little shop. Would highly recommend.

It was a great little space. We were given just enough instruction and then left to enjoy painting. We could pay £2 each for an add-on kit of a little pot of varnish, a brush and a bag. It would be great if the bag was included in the workshop price (if you wanted one), and you could then just choose to pay for the varnish and brush upgrade to take home. I've been to loads of traditional pottery painting activities, this was the first time painting on an actual candle was an option - what a great idea! I love that this is in the city centre, I can imagine that if you just happen to be in town and fancy getting creative, you could just call in and ask if there's spaces available. It also means you can grab a drink and cake from the cafe in the Corn Exchange and support all the other indie businesses in there.
