This is a fun activity in Islington, London

Join us for an exciting Kokedama Workshop in collaboration with in-residence lifestyle store, hosted by Hana Flowers London!

Kokedama, which means moss ball in Japanese, is a beautiful and meditative form of plant art where the roots of a plant are wrapped in a ball of soil and moss, transforming it into a living sculpture.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the traditional technique of creating your own Kokedama to take home, along with care tips to keep it thriving. No experience needed - just bring your creativity and love for plants!

You will work with a variety of natural materials such as plants, moss, and twine. Crafting with these elements is deeply therapeutic, offering a calming sense of connection to nature.

Please note, we have a small studio dog. If you have any concerns or allergies, kindly reach out to us in advance.

I’ve just finished the loveliest, most relaxing time at the Kokedama workshop by Hana Flowers. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute — from creating my own kokedama and learning about its fascinating history, to the warm and thoughtful conversations throughout. It was a beautiful blend of creativity, calm, and connection with nature. The whole experience felt both grounding and uplifting. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone looking for a mindful and inspiring way to spend their time!

We booked the workshop for my mum’s birthday and we all loved it! Sally is amazing and so talented. The whole process was super satisfying — and the results were so pretty. Highly recommend!

Absolutely enjoyed the workshop, a lot of fun in a very relaxed casual way, but one does get fully recharged just by being around like minded people and making two very cute kokedama plants home. Sally the teacher was great, clear instructions and very helpful. Would look forward to another workshop with her in the future.

I arrived at this workshop straight from work, completely exhausted, but the whole process of making the moss ball, along with the gorgeous earthy scent of moss and ivy, totally revived me. The class was friendly, clearly guided, and just the right mix of relaxing and fun. A lovely way to unwind and create something beautiful.
