Hindsight is a remarkable thing. I spent £100 on overnight accommodation in order to get to this 11am class as well as the cost of the class. It lasted 2 hours though it truly only felt like an hour of actual on topic info. A good chunk of time was talking about the brand and them hawking their at home perfume making kits at you. What did we do? We smelled bits of paper with different smells, made by the company, and then we picked ones we liked together and that was it. Genuinely. They word it cleverly on the site, that you will “blend” your scent. This naturally evokes images of bottle droppers or a measuring glass filled with different oils/liquids being mixed right? Almost like the various images shown on websites selling this course, CB included. No we smelled bits of paper, figured out what ones we liked next to each other and then the teacher made everyone’s perfumes. This was not done in an educational style either, where you would observe the mixing or anything. No this was “choose the notes you like, write them down and bring them to me. Then sit down and talk amongst yourselves”. It was a cramped room filled with small round tables, like a kids table at a wedding. 6 people per kiddie table. There must have been 24-30 of us and no room to move. Luckily we weren’t doing anything that required movement… A lot of the “class” was an upsell of company products and in hindsight this was nothing more than a cash grab, not an education. The most we learnt was the difference between edp and edt. Something many already know. That and how note pyramids work. 2 shortly explained things. I have a lot of grievances with this class and truthfully I could go on about all the little issues about this “course”. But the main take is: don’t buy it unless you just want to pass the time for a bridal party or something. Don’t if you are interested in actual perfume making. I am, as is my partner and we went here as a fun anniversary activity. It is a tremendous letdown, you will feel cheated and stupid. I regret “upgrading” my experience to a bigger bottle in person, which costs over double what is charged on CB. I did this so it didn’t feel like a massive waste of time and money, as I originally only bought a 5ml bottle. But that’s only made me more aware what a rip off this was. Not only that but I never got to keep my original 5ml paid for! I just got upgraded to a 20ml bottle for £25(!!!) extra. I should have come out of there with 25ml. They’ll say they explained their tiers but frankly it left us all confused. This was a costly hard lesson for me. I made my own bespoke perfume? No I picked smells I liked and had someone else make it.

Went with my niece and had a really enjoyable time and both of our perfumes turned out smelling lovely. The teacher was really informative and friendly and the location was good too.
