The process of exploring the fragrance notes was fun, and the welcome fizz was a lovely touch. However, it would have been helpful to receive a printout showing which notes were included in each scent. For example, I only discovered after receiving the fragrance certificate that Citrus contained Neroli, or that Gourmand included Patchouli. As someone who dislikes Patchouli, I unintentionally doubled up on it by combining two notes that both contained it. Meanwhile, my friend’s blend ended up with Bergamot four times. For a perfume workshop, it also seemed like an oversight not to have coffee beans on the tables to help reset the nose between scents. The main reason for my two-star deduction, however, was the facilitator. Referring to the host as a “teacher” felt misplaced for what was billed as a “Fragrance Design Experience.” This is meant to be an enjoyable, social activity for adults who have paid a premium to attend, yet Alison’s approach felt unnecessarily condescending. We were instructed not to talk except during breaks, and the overall atmosphere was made more rigid than it needed to be. Having facilitated many workshops myself, I appreciate the importance of managing a group but her tone was heavy-handed for this type of setting. A child attending with her mother even commented, “I feel like I’m at school,” which summed up the atmosphere perfectly. The elitism in some of Alison’s remarks was also disappointing. At one point, she suggested that people who enjoy vanilla scents “haven’t had much life experience.” I could write a long response to that, but I’ll just say that this was unprofessional and unnecessary. TL;DR: A fun experience overall, but it could have been greatly improved by coffee beans for scent breaks, note compositions being shared upfront, and most importantly, having a facilitator who doesn't run it as though we’d all been sent back to school.

The perfume workshop was very interesting, enjoyable and well run. The 20ml perfume atomiser with my personally created perfume will be very useful.

Teacher was great. Great venue. Got a welcome drink. Class was informative and fun. Lots of scents to choose from. Done in a methodical way and no pressure. Love the atomiser. A great day out with the girls. Great for hen party or friends day out and also as couples or individuals.

My friends and I got gifted this by our parents and we loved it. It was really fun and we love our new signature scents. Even though we were a lot younger than the other people, we still loved the experience and would do it again!!

This experience was offered to me as a gift and it was really straightforward to reedem. I really enjoyed the class with Alison. It was very well structured and she walked us through the steps of creating our very own fragrance, giving lots of notions on the different perfume notes and about the perfume production process. I really enjoyed creating my personal perfume and will possibly re-oreder it now that I branded it as my very own !
