This is a fun activity in Catford, London

Discover the Zentangle Method in this mindful drawing workshop, perfect if you have aleady completed an introduction session, but also designed for you to have a go at doing this calming art form first-hand if you have never experienced Zentangle Method drawing before.. You'll learn about the Zentangle Method, a global movement recognised for reducing stress and improving focus through deliberate pen strokes, all while creating a unique piece of art that is truly yours.

This workshop goes beyond just learning about the technique; most of the session involves hands-on practice where you will be guided in completing your own Zentangle creation. Unlike general mindful doodling, Zentangle® is a research-supported method that actively engages your brain, fostering a state of relaxed focus. You'll learn how repetitive, structured patterns can positively impact your well-being. Studies suggest the Zentangle Method can:

- Reduce stress and anxiety – by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (your body's natural calming response).
- Boost creativity – by encouraging a flow state, similar to meditation.
- Enhance cognitive focus – contributing positively to emotional well-being.

The Zentangle method drawing is also recommended by the PTSD UK charity, which signposts services for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder.

You'll leave this session not only with your completed artwork but also with an understanding of how to use this accessible method as a tool for relaxation and improved concentration.

Excellent class. I learnt a lot and ended with a zentangle tile I'm really proud of. A fascinating and relaxing session.

Lovely teacher and relaxed, beginner/non-artist friendly class. The time went quickly and we all produced a ‘tile’ (picture) by the end. Excellent value.
