Discover the magic of pottery in this 2-day summer clay course designed especially for young makers!
Our experienced tutors will guide children through a range of fun hand-building techniques, helping them transform the clay into unique creations to take home and treasure. They'll also learn how to decorate their work using colourful slips, adding their own creative flair to every piece.
Day 1:
Create a clay figure under expert guidance (with plenty of inspiring examples to spark ideas!)
Learn hand-building techniques to shape and sculpt your masterpiece
Day 2:
Build a slab-based pot, pencil holder or vessel with the option to add textures and patterns
Personalise your creations with colourful slip decorations
Throughout the workshop, children will experience the joy of working with clay, developing their creativity and confidence while creating beautiful handmade pieces. Once completed, their work will be professionally glazed and fired.
The course culminates in our exciting Summer Exhibition, where family and friends are invited to view the children's finished creations and celebrate their achievements.
The exhibition will take place on Thursday 27th August, with a private viewing from 5.30PM- 6.30PM. Children will also receive a certificate to commemorate their artistic journey.
Recommended for ages 6–10, this pottery course is a fantastic opportunity for budding artists to explore their creativity, learn new skills and create lasting memories.
