This is a fun activity in Lechlade, Gloucester

Join us for a fun day in the Craft Barn with guest tutor Kelly and make your own beautiful leather-bound journal or sketchbook.

In this workshop you will:
- Learn how to understand paper grain.
- Correctly fold and cut paper using traditional tools.
- Pick, prepare, and measure a piece of leather choosing different colours and thicknesses.
- Learn how to sew the book together (No glue here!) using the traditional medieval long-stitch technique, with stitches showing on the spine to add that extra bit of contrast and detail!
- Finish the book with a choice of different methods using straps, buttons, studs, or something a bit more adventurous!

At the end of this workshop, you will have a beautifully bound book as well as the skills and knowledge to create more at home.

NOTE: The Craft Barn is accessed via external stone steps with handrails and may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
