This is a fun activity in Holloway, London
Come and spend a day with me at my studio at The Busworks, United House, North Rd, London N7 9DP (3 mins from Caledonian Rd tube station), where we will explore all aspects of slow sewing and visible mending.
- In the morning session, you will learn how to creatively repair your clothes and in the afternoon, it's all about you and your clothes.
- Please bring your favourite items (jackets, knitwear, jeans, socks, scarves etc.) to mend in the afternoon session and consolidate the morning's learning in a relaxed and unhurried way.
- You can immerse yourself in the rhythm of mending and enjoy the opportunity to spend a day crafting in good company.
- Please bring a packed lunch or alternatively there are cafes just around the corner on Caledonian Road.
- There will be an assortment of beautiful yarns and threads at the workshop with enough to take home at the end of the session in case you don’t finish your mend.
- All materials, including needles, threads, fabric swatches, darning discs, and scissors, will be available for you to use during the day plus plenty of tea and biscuits!
This one-day darning retreat is perfect for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle. It is a chance to slow down in a quiet, meaningful, and creative way. No prior sewing experience is necessary to join in with the darning day. Book yourself a space around my sewing table.
Please note the studio is on the first floor and is accessed via a cobbled path and a lift or spiral staircase. As you are coming out of office hours please go to the grey wooden door directly opposite Plumbase next to the blue Busworks banner and I will come and let you in, try to arrive 5 mins before class.
