Learn how to capture the fleeting beauty of botanicals in a permanent work of art during this plaster casting workshop. This calming and creative activity teaches you a unique process where the properties of plaster replicate every frond, filament, and leaf in exquisite detail.
In this session, you will learn all the basics of this fascinating craft. Your friendly guide will show you how to:
- Roll a clay slab to the perfect thickness
- Arrange and press your chosen flowers and plants into the clay
- Remove the botanicals to leave behind a beautiful and detailed impression
- Pour plaster into your prepared mould to cast your design
After your piece has been cast, you can relax with a glass of wine while the plaster sets. Once it's ready, we will remove the clay to reveal your incredible design, which will then be cleaned and prepared for you to take home and display.
A selection of plants and flowers will be provided, but please feel free to bring along special items from your own garden if you’d like to make your design even more personal.
