This is a fun activity in Islington, London

Join this London experience and make your very own Ikebana flower arrangements with a modern twist.

You will learn all about Japanese flower arranging called Ikebana. It dates back to the sixth century when Buddhist monks made floral offerings for alters. There is great importance on seasonality, minimalism and thoughtful placement of stems that is in tune with nature.

Delve into this gentle and important art form and step back from your busy life. Unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy learning something new.

This floristry class will be led by an experienced teacher who has a passion for all things floral. They will introduce you to the main techniques and principles of Ikebana flower design so you can create your own masterpiece.

We will provide you with stunning, seasonal branches, stems and flowers to perfect your floral arrangement.

We encourage using your own creativity and personal touch while being aware of the basic principles of Ikebana.

You will take home all the flowers used and as well as extra stems so you can practice at home. There is an option to purchase the Kenzan and a container.

If you want some things to do in London that will help you slow down then this class is perfect. Try it for a team building event, birthday party, or just a nice weekend activity.

We are also happy to teach at a venue of your choice - there is no additional cost other than travel to your location.

Class time is just an estimate and may vary - it is the maximum allowed time. Everyone works at their own pace and the number of people attending will impact this.

Fun and engaging class! Nono was so passionate and gave lots of tips. I also loved that you could take them stems home and make a new Ikebana at home.

In my two hours I got to create one traditional floral design, which Nono, the lovely teacher showed us & two freestyle designs. One using just the plants available & the other using other elements in which I chose wood, and it ended up being my favourite design! It was great to see how everyone designed something so different with the same use of materials. A Super cozy place! I also got to leave with extra flowers, my kenzan, and a dish to create at home.

Nono was an excellent and incredibly skilled teacher with a positive, encouraging manner. It was a relaxed yet informative environment with plenty of opportunity for questions and further explanations. We practised 3 different types/schools of ikebana arranging - the last incorporating larger pieces of wood and stones. This meant we couldn’t take them home, but we did take home a generous bunch of seasonal flowers, an ikebana bowl and a kenzen to stand the flowers in and remake at home. Everything was top quality!

In this workshop, I could really feel the art of Ikebana. The atmosphere in our small group was very warm- hearted. We could choose a lot of materials to arrange a lovely artwork. Oure professional Japanese master of Ikebana always guided us in a perfect and sensitiv way. And also to mention, we could take home a lot of flowers together with the ceramic bowl and the Kenzan. Thank you for this lovely experience. ありがとう Doris Dudek
