This is a fun activity in Camberwell, London
In this mixed media workshop, you'll learn how to create an original picture using a combination of painting and collage.
You'll use acrylics, pens, stamps, printed papers and vintage books and magazines from your teacher Gabriela's extensive collection to make something unique and special to you!
Don't worry if you're new to mixed media or if you're not super confident with painting and drawing - you don't need any special skills to take part, have a great time and make something wonderful.
Guided throughout the making process by your inspiring teacher, Gabriela, you'll learn how to combine a variety of textures, shapes, colours and mediums to create a unique and interesting piece of art. Your class is completely beginner-friendly, so you'll be able to share the creative process with other mixed media newcomers.
Your teacher will provide lots of support on collaging and painting and you'll learn a range of craft and art methods as you put your artwork together. You'll also be shown some of the technical processes of making mixed media art, to help you design a composition that really works.
You'll make your masterpiece on strong card stock which your teacher will provide for you. Alternatively, you can bring your own artwork base - a flat surface such as a piece of wood or a stretched canvas works well. You can also choose to purchase a canvas as an optional add-on at checkout - if you go for this option, it'll be ready for you when you get to your workshop.
By the end of your craft class, you'll have a host of new collaging skills and a refreshed mindset from your creative experience! You'll also have a unique piece of mixed media art made by you to take home and hang proudly on your wall.
