This is the perfect activity to learn the fundamentals of this fascinating process in a relaxed and informative session.

As seen on BBC's Marcus Wareing: Tales from a Kitchen Garden Colin is an expert in the art of fermentation and trains top chefs internationally to look at food and flavours with fresh eyes. In this three-hour workshop, he makes this ancient craft accessible to everyone.

You will learn how to make Curtido, a delicious Central American sauerkraut, and will be given all the knowledge needed to care for it at home. During the class, you will discover the health benefits of fermented foods and explore how fermentation is key to producing some of our everyday favourites. You’ll also get to sample a variety of exciting ferments, giving you a taste of what’s possible.

You will leave not just with a jar of your own Curtido to start your fermented larder, but with a completely new perspective on flavour and the confidence to continue this rewarding practice at home.

Interested children are welcome on all of our courses. They will be treated as equals, as such it is up to the parent/guardian to ensure that they are able to participate and behave as equals. We know that no two children are the same and very happy to discuss suitability.
