Across three hours, you’ll get expert guidance, a full safety briefing, and supervised practise with:

- Introduction to screw types and how to choose the right fasteners
- Combination Drill
- Impact Driver
- Random Orbital Sander
- Jigsaw

You’ll learn safe handling, workspace setup, PPE use, and beginner techniques for drilling, sanding, cutting, and shaping wood. By the end, you’ll know how to avoid common hazards, make accurate cuts, and choose the right tool for the job.

No experience required — just wear closed-toe shoes and bring your curiosity! All tools and safety equipment are provided.

“Brendan was very patient, explained things well and was very knowleadgeble. I really enjoyed this class. There were notepads and reading material available which was great. There were about 5 of us, which seemed an ideal number of people for this class. The room was extremely hot, due to the heatwave but we coped well with the 2 fans available. My only suggestion would be for more tools to be covered on the day and to have more practice time. People usually have a lot of stories to tell and a lot of questions related to what they are looking to do, which is not always what other people are interested in, so I felt way too much time was spent talking. Sometimes the class just needs to keep going. I will be looking into joining another course to keep learning. I had a lot of fun in this class.”

“Sean is a fantastic tutor who has so much knowledge. He ensured that everybody had the opportunity to use all of the power tools and was very encouraging when I was nervous about the circular saw. I have been to other courses Sean has run and his delivery is always clear and entertaining at the same time. It was a great learning experience for me.”

“Great class, great instructor! Steve was enthusiastic and patient- a grat combo for a beginner's class. What would have made this workshop brilliant would be to have some notes that could be mailed on to us after. There were a lot of things I learnt that could benefit from some notes to refer back to.”
