This is a fun activity in Bedford, Milton Keynes
Join us for a fun, creative evening with our drypoint etching workshop in Bedford. Each workshop teaches a new technique in a fun, inclusive, relaxed, and warm environment aimed at all artistic abilities.
This 3-hour workshop will involve informed teaching of the drypoint etching process. We will teach you an adapted version of traditional etching, done on copper or zinc plates, that allows the process to be more accessible. Throughout the experience, you will learn how you can also reuse materials you have at home to create beautiful artworks.
Using an image of your house, you will 'trace' etch your picture into drypoint plastic. Your tutor will show you how to use mark-making techniques to build up detail and textures. The second part of the workshop will involve inking up your plate using a range of different coloured, oil-based inks. Lastly, you will print your piece onto paper using a small traditional etching press.
Your ticket also includes a hot drink and cake to keep you going throughout!
Once booked, please ensure you send an image of your house at least 2 days before the workshop date so that it can be printed. If you would like to print the image yourself, please ensure it is no bigger than 14 x 14cm and that it is flipped to be a mirror image.
