“This was my second time at the Mosaic lamp class. Harun welcomed us, demonstrated techniques and helped people throughout the session. There is a wide range of materials and designs to copy. The colourful display of glass pieces and sample lamps are what l enjoyed most.”

“Myself and friends were very disappointed on this course. The description of it on ClassBento needs to be more accurate as it is misleading. ‘Join this two-part mosaic lamp and candle holder workshop in Manchester and learn how to craft your very own unique masterpiece.’ The issue of a 2nd date included in the price to make another lamp had already been highlighted to both parties, instructor and ClassBento. Neither the instructor nor ClassBento have fulfilled the agreement made for the 2nd session of receiving another complete lamp at no extra cost made verbally and via email with my friend. Instead we now have 1 completed lamp and 1 glass bowl each as the instructor would only allow us to take away the 2nd bowl and no metal lamp frame unless we paid him some more money. I totally agree with what Perpetua Jones has said and would NOT recommend anyone takes up this course unles the terms are made clearer. We totally agree with what Perpetua Jones has said. I believe ClassBento need to take some responsibility for the instructors whose courses they are promoting and the accuracy of theese courses.”

“DO NOT BOOK THIS CLASS. It is advertised on Class Bento as a 2 session course. I booked Nov and Dec. On the first session the teacher Harun Calis seemed to have no idea it was for 2 sessions. The first session was very unsatisfactory. He spent most of the time out of the room. He seemed more interested in our help in improving his website and Facebook adverts by asking the group for advice. .His instructions were minimal. At home I contacted Class Bento about the 2nd session. They took no responsibility for this and said my contract was with the instructor and they could do nothing. Finally it was agreed with Class Bento and the instructor that I could go back in December to make another lamp at no extra cost. See photos of correspondence below. This 2nd session was no better. Other ladies there who had booked through his own website Blueartland had no idea what the should be doing. As I had been before I ended up helping them. Again Harun spent more time asking how to improve his visibility on Google than teaching. At the end of the session Harun denied having made the arrangement of a 2nd lamp at no extra cost to me. He wanted me to pay again or leave with just the glass. The discussion became heated. I suggested a compromise of buying the base of the lamp at cost price so I had a lamp and he was not out of pocket. He suggested I paid half his own workshop price of £46 for a lamp base which was much higher than metal bases I had seen on Etsy. I left with just the glass, very upset and a high level of anxiety. As Class Bento contributes to mental health charities I find this ironic. I would say if you have a problem with any Class Bento workshop they will deny all responsibility and refer you back to the instructor. I will not be booking again.”
