This is a fun activity in Peckham, London

Discover the art of personalisation with extrusion.

Step into the creative world of Maison S. Sommet Pottery Studio and try your hand at our signature extrusion technique. This beginner-friendly workshop is a fun, hands-on experience – think of it like making pasta or sausages with clay! You’ll use the clay guns to create playful shapes, which you can turn into decorations and patterns for your mugs or vase.

You’ll have the choice to create:
- A mug-sized container – perfect as a coffee mug, pen holder, planter, or toothbrush holder
- A vase-sized piece – ideal for flowers or as a statement art object

No prior experience is needed – just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get your hands messy. Our relaxed and welcoming studio atmosphere makes it easy to experiment, unwind, and enjoy the creative process. It’s also a lovely activity for a date, a family outing, or a fun catch-up with friends.

Once your piece is shaped, you can decorate and paint it to make it truly personal. If you choose to keep your creation, we’ll fire and glaze it for you all included! (Firing of 1 mug per person is included - Extra piece firing & glazing fee: £10 for mug-size, £30 for vase-size), creating a beautiful finished piece perfect for keeping or gifting.

Location: Unit 4G, Space Studios, 90 Haymerle Rd, London SE15 6SB

Come and discover the joy of working with clay, Maison S. Sommet-style – hands-on, playful, and completely yours.

Very fun workshop, no previous skills needed, and you get to make and decorate your own very cool mug or vase using extruders which make brilliant patterns to stick to the vessel. The teacher was very clear and available for assistance and questions during the workshop, I can't wait to collect my mug.

I absolutely loved this class! It was such a unique and fun experience — the extrusion process was unlike anything I’ve seen at other pottery studios in London. The instructor was patient and encouraging, creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere perfect for beginners. I learned so much, got to play with colours, and left with a beautiful handmade mug. Everything was so well organised — truly one of the most creative and enjoyable classes I’ve done!

I had such a wonderful time at the extrusion workshop! It was such a unique and creative technique of working with clay, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I can’t wait to see my mug fired in cobalt blue!! it’s going to be so special. Wishing the team all the best for the upcoming workshops. It’s a truly fun and unique experience, and I’ll definitely be back (with more friends)!

It was such a fun and unique experience! Not like any other pottery workshop I have done before - I cannot wait to get functional pieces back. Thank you Stephanie and Tanvi for sharing your knowledge of extrusion with us! Can’t wait to do it again.

My wife and I had such a good evening making our matching mugs. It was the perfect end to our weekend – also great for a chilled weekday activity. It was cool to learn a few new technical tricks, and the really friendly tutors were on hand for more tricky elements and customisations. I really wanted to make an orange mug, unfortunately that colour wasn't available – cobalt blue will work just fine though! Can't wait to pick them up once they're glazed and fired. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a bit of social craftyness.
