In this fun and festive Pot & Print - Christmas workshop, you will delve into the delightful world of lino printing and clay building. Learn how to carve intricate designs into lino and create your own unique Christmas cards. After mastering the art of printing, explore the realm of pottery as you use your linocut to craft stunning ceramic pieces under the expert guidance of our skilled potter.
No experience is necessary; you will be guided through the process by two experienced artists. Georgia, with a master's degree in Fine Art and a background in printmaking, will assist you in creating and printing your lino cut. Amanda, with over 30 years' experience in pottery and teaching, will lead you in creating your clay masterpieces and will adapt to everyone's creative needs.
Part 1:
- Choose from one of our design templates and transfer and carve your image into your lino block with guidance from our printmaker Georgia.
- Ink up and print your design onto 5 Christmas cards, with the option to add extra decorations with provided stamps.
Break:
We will break for 30 minutes to have a sandwich and a hot drink from the Arc's gorgeous café!
Part 2:
- Stamp your designs into slabs of clay.
- Construct these into Christmas decor, guided by our potter Amanda. You will be able to create up to two hanging decorations and a festive napkin holder.
- Decorate your pieces using coloured underglaze.
Take your Christmas cards home the same day, ready to gift to your friends and family! Collect your ceramic pieces after 4 weeks.
