This is a fun activity in Kingston upon Thames, London
This workshop is for parent and teen pairs but it is also suitable for any carer over 18 plus a younger teen or grandparents and teen grandchildren. It is also suitable for teens with additional needs. It will have small class sizes of 4 pairs maximum (So 8 people in total). The cost advertised is for two people.
This workshop is an opportunity for teens to learn something with their parents/carers during the holidays. Come and learn how to give a new lease of life to an old piece of furniture at this fun and creative painting workshop. This hands-on activity is perfect for any teen and parent who like to be hands-on and do something together. You will need to bring one piece of furniture between you.
In this workshop, I will teach you how to prepare your item for painting. You'll learn the correct way to clean and sand your furniture, and I’ll explain what type of paint to use and why. I use Frenchic Paint, who, in my opinion, are the market leaders. I will show you both brush and roller techniques, and you will be able to paint your piece of furniture ready to take home by the end of the session. You will also learn how to seal and care for your painted furniture once you get it home.
- You are welcome to bring your own small piece of furniture, such as a wooden chair, an occasional table, a small stool, or a wooden box. While you can bring a bedside table or a chest of drawers, please be aware you may not finish it in time. If you don't have a piece of furniture, please let me know, as I can source one for you for a small additional cost.
- The class will be a fun and creative opportunity to learn, with a maximum of eight participants (4 pairs). You'll go home with your beautifully updated piece of furniture and a wonderful sense of accomplishment in your new skills.
The class will take place in the Toshiba Craft Studio during the half-term holiday.
