This is a fun activity in Kingston upon Thames, London

Learn the satisfying art of cut-pile tufting and create your own mini rug in this private, beginner-friendly workshop in Kingston-upon-Thames. In a cosy, one-on-one setting, you'll bring your design to life on a frame, creating a piece approximately 25x25 cm.

This is a fantastic activity to learn a unique craft with dedicated support. This is a private class tailored to you, whether you book one-on-one or as a private group.

**I will teach you everything you need to know, including how to:**
- Thread and load the tufting gun correctly
- Use the machine confidently and safely
- Glue and trim your finished rug for a professional look

To make the most of our time together, I will prepare your tufting cloth with your chosen design before you arrive. After your booking is confirmed, I will send you a link where you can either upload your own image or choose from a selection of my original, beginner-friendly designs. You don’t need to send me your design right away, but it’s super helpful if you can share it at least 12-18 hours before class so I can prepare your cloth. If not, no worries — we’ll prepare it together in the session.

You'll have a palette of over 50 yarn colours to choose from to create your masterpiece. The workshop is paced for you to finish. You'll leave with your incredible hand-tufted mini rug and the skills to continue your journey, feeling proud of the unique, textured art you've created from scratch.
Biscuits and refreshments included – please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements when booking.

Gocken was such an amazing tufting teacher, I really loved the whole experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm and welcoming. The space is in a quiet, chilled neighbourhood, which made it feel really private and peaceful. Gocken is so kind, patient, and easy to learn from. She explains everything clearly and makes you feel comfortable, even if you’ve never done anything creative before. There’s no pressure at all, just a really nice environment to enjoy the process and create something at your own pace. It’s the perfect activity to do with a friend or someone dear to you, something different but really meaningful. And the best part is leaving with something you made yourself. Such a lovely, fulfilling experience for both creatives and non-creatives. I would definitely recommend. IT WAS LIT!!

I could not recommend a trip to the messy table enough. I booked rug tufting for my friends birthday as a surprise and we both had an absolute brilliant time. It was great to try something new with the kind and patient guidance which was provided. I will definitely be visiting again!

The tufting class at Messy Table was absolutely amazing! I'd never tried anything like it before and was a little hesitant, but Gökçen, the instructor, was so sweet and helpful that I immediately felt comfortable. The process of creating my own piece was so much fun, and the final result exceeded my expectations! While I can't share the details of the design just yet, it's a piece I'm working on for a future exhibition. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to have fun and create something unique!

Gokcen is one incredibly talented artist and a great teacher. She showed me how to work on my own craft while guiding me to set my creative flair free. The studio is really cosy and warm like her character. I absolutely loved my time and it was therapeutic in a way. I absolutely recommend it to anyone to attend and taste the joy of making something by hand with a very cool teacher
