This is a fun activity in Kennington, London

Join us for a special creative workshop in London in preparation for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This culturally rich session is a meaningful way to honour departed loved ones, ancestors, or beloved pets, while making something beautiful and lasting.

Guided by mosaic artist Kes, you’ll design and create a decorative calavera (skull) or marigold flower -- two vibrant and iconic symbols of the holiday. Using colourful pre-cut glass and ceramic tiles, you’ll bring your piece to life on a wooden base to take home. No experience required!

**What to expect:**
- Learn the fundamentals of mosaic design, including colour selection, andamento (tile flow), and spacing.
- Step-by-step support from an experienced mosaic artist.
- Create your own decorative skull or marigold flower using glass and ceramic tiles.
- Take home your unique mosaic artwork, with instructions for grouting once the adhesive sets (demo included).
- A supportive, beginner-friendly space where creativity and intention matter most.

This workshop is perfect for adults and mature teens (18+) looking for a meaningful and creative way to celebrate Día de los Muertos. Spaces are limited to just 8 participants to ensure personal guidance and plenty of time for each maker.

Honour the past, celebrate life, and leave with a one-of-a-kind mosaic creation.

A wonderful experience, would highly recommend. Welcoming and friendly environment, all supplies provided, gentle guidance from accomplished artist if desired. Everything you need to unplug from your day and focus in a relaxed setting on creating something unique. The time flew by and I thoroughly enjoyed the process which for me was like piecing together a puzzle. Can’t wait to return for another session!

Kes is a wonderful host and an excellent teacher, she created a warm ambience and aesthetic, which set the scene perfectly for our Day of the Dead ‘skull’ mosaics. Most of us had little or no prior experience in mosaic making and we all did really well ! And we gelled as a group also. If you’ve been wanting to try mosaics, Kes’s workshops are for you !
