Come and get creative with yarn in this tufting workshop in Rotherham where you will make your own mini rug or wall hanging! This is a fantastic activity for all abilities, so if you're a complete beginner, you'll be guided every step of the way.
Tufting is a modern take on the traditional craft of rug making. In this workshop, you will learn how to use a cut-pile tufting gun, a tool that lets you create fluffy and colourful art pieces with your own designs. You'll have a dedicated space to practise and get comfortable with the equipment before starting on your final piece.
You will be working on a 45x45cm canvas where you can bring any design to life! Whether you fancy a quirky wall hanging, a mini rug, or a set of unique coasters, the choice is yours. To get the best results, it's a good idea to choose a design with simple block shapes and colours, as lots of detail can be tricky for a first-timer. You'll need to send your design idea at least 48 hours before the class so it can be prepared for you, or you can opt to draw it freehand on the day.
This class is focused on teaching you the fun part – how to tuft. Once you have completed your design, your teacher will professionally back and finish the piece for you. It will be ready for collection within five working days, or it can be posted to you for an additional postage fee.
