This is a fun activity in Manchester

In this ceramics taster class in Manchester, you'll be guided through the process of throwing clay on a potter's wheel. You'll have a wheel to yourself for the duration of the class and as much clay as you need to experiment and get messy!

Don't worry if you've never tried throwing before, our wheel intro sessions are designed for complete beginners. In a small group of 5, you'll have plenty of assistance from your tutor, Georgie.

At the end of the class, you'll be able to choose your 2 favourite pieces to be glazed and fired. You can choose a glaze colour for each one and you'll need to come back and pick these up 3-4 weeks after the class finishes. If you don't live in Manchester, we can arrange postage for an additional £5 payable on the day.

Suitable for ages 12+ if attending with an adult.

“Had such a lovely time at the Familia Clay Wheel Workshop! It was our first time working with clay, and we honestly didn’t know what to expect, it definitely wasn’t as easy as it looks, but it also wasn’t as bad as we feared (lol!). Ended up making some really nice pieces (at least nice for us) and had so much fun throughout the session. A special thank you to our teacher, Georgie, who was incredibly kind, patient, and easy to communicate with. She made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend this workshop to anyone thinking of trying pottery, and we’ll definitely be back in the future, hopefully with kids too!”
