This is a fun activity in Oxford
Step off the cobbled streets of Oxford and into the warm glow of our kitchen for The Oxford Masala Club, a supper-club-style experience where you’ll cook, dine, and connect. Inspired by the golden age of the spice route, this is where Oxford’s historic charm blends with the warmth of a South Asian home.
Hosted by us, Nyla and Aysha (the Spice Sisters), this is more than a cooking class. It’s a wonderful activity where you will learn hidden recipes passed down through our family. In this workshop, you’ll roll rotis, stir fragrant curries, and share a candle-lit feast in our home – part supper club, part storytelling session.
This experience focuses on our family’s simple and soulful North Indian vegetarian recipes. You’ll learn how to cook and then enjoy:
- Aloo tikki – crisp, golden potato patties spiced with herbs and served with tangy chutney
- Tadka dal – golden lentils tempered with cumin and garlic, a comforting staple from our childhood
- Palak paneer – creamy spinach curry with soft cubes of paneer, delicately spiced and deeply satisfying
- Fresh roti – hand-rolled and flame-finished right before your eyes
- Kheer – a cardamom-infused rice pudding, slow-stirred to silk, finished with nuts
The experience takes place in our home kitchen in Botley, Oxford. Each session hosts up to six guests, creating an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is welcome at our table – no experience is required, just curiosity and an appetite.
This is your invitation to slow down, savour every bite, and feel at home. You'll leave with new recipes and cherished memories, feeling wonderfully uplifted by this unforgettable evening of flavour and friendship.
