This is a fun activity in Wolverton, Milton Keynes
Join this crochet bag making workshop in Wolverton and create a stylish and practical accessory from scratch. Spread over two sessions, this course is designed to guide you through the process of making granny squares and assembling them into a finished bag.
This class is perfect for those who have already dipped their toes into the world of crochet who would like to perfect the basic granny square or to stretch themselves by making more advanced granny squares which incorporate a variety of stitches.
In part one, you will focus on mastering the granny square. You'll learn how to:
- Confidently make a basic granny square
- Make double treble, puff and cluster stitches (for the sunburst granny square)
- Make a standing starting stitch
- Make an invisible join
- Make colour changes
- Continue rows in the same colour
- Finish off loose ends
To make a finished bag you will need to complete thirteen granny squares in total. During this class you are unlikely to finish more than two or three. If you wish to make a bag, you will need to complete the rest at home, before coming to Part 2 to complete your bag.
Classes are kept small to ensure everyone receives plenty of attention in a comfortable home setting. All materials needed, including 300g of Aran weight yarn, a 5mm hook, a wool needle, and patterns for basic and sunburst granny squares (and handles) are included. You'll also be treated to homemade cake and refreshments to keep you going.
