This is a focused, beginner-intermediate level wheel throwing crash course, designed to help you build real skills in a short time.
The course runs for 2.5 weeks, with two classes per week — 5 sessions in total. On Monday & Thursday 6:30-9:00pm. (We only offer this class once a month)
March Sessions:
Choice 1: 10:30AM, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 March
Choice 2: 6:30PM, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23 March
This is the same team that created Meiro's all 5 star review throwing beginner taster lessons. We know what you want, and we will deliver it.
What we do on each session?
1. Preparing and wedging clay. Centering and throwing a cylinder
2. Trimming your forms. Tap center.
3. Perfect your wedging skills. Throwing tall and changing shapes. Make handles and attach to throwing pieces.
4. Trimming your forms to more delicate, thinner forms.
5. Glazing. Learning dipping glaze, brush on, pouring techniques and go through all kinds of glazes. Use glaze of your choice for the pieces you made in the past 2 weeks!
Our experienced instructor graduated from Central Saint Martins ceramics major will guide you closely throughout the course. With a maximum of 5 students per class, you’ll get plenty of individual attention and hands-on support. We encourage you to come with questions, so you can maximize the learning experience and improve your skills.
This course is suitable for students who have already taken at least one beginner throwing taster session (with us or elsewhere). We want to ensure everyone comes in knowing they enjoy wheel throwing and are ready to develop further.
We will provide aprons, materials, firings, equipment, professional teaching, and a good vibe.
With our specifically designed course, access to the materials in a true artist's studio, and guidance from an extremely experienced and patient instructor. You will bring home cups, bowls, and plates that you made from beginning to end. We even give out a little certificate in the end. No limitation of how many items gets fired!
