This is a fun activity in Pontefract, Leeds

NOTE :- Set dates only see all the available dates. if you want a bespoke date, week days only available and a minimum of 5 guests.

Join our 1 hour pottery and 1 hour painting workshop and experience the fun of both throwing on the wheel and painting your own ceramic piece. We have 5 wheels, so you will be in a small group of up to 5 guests.

The workshop is split into two exciting parts. You will spend the first hour on the wheel with Rachel. To help you get started straight away, your clay has been pre-centred. Rachel will then be by your side to help you shape the clay into a bowl, vase, plant pot, or a cosy hug mug.

After your hour in the wheel room, you'll move into the painting room with Cath. For the next hour, Cath will guide you on how to decorate your pot. We have a choice of 20 coloured underglazes and lots of tools to help, including 150 sponges in shapes like flowers, leaves, animals, and insects. You can also freehand a design – just bring one with you. While you paint, Cath will make you a tea or coffee with a cookie.

Once your class is finished, we will take care of the rest. Your pot will be fired to bisque, before we dip it in a clear shiny glaze and re-fire it to be ready to use. You’ll leave the session having enjoyed a wonderfully creative time, ready to collect your finished, functional piece 4 weeks later.

**Please note:**
- This workshop is for adults or children aged 12 or above.
- Collection is 4 weeks after the workshop.
- Alternatively, we can ship your pot to you for £12.

PLEASE NOTE: You will receive an email direct from Rachel Byass Ceramics when you book to confirm your booking and give you further information however if you do not receive this please contact us to check that your booking has been received.

Me and my daughter had a lovely time at our pottery throwing and painting class. I made a bowl for my grandson and my daughter made him his first Christmas plate for Santa. :) Both ladies were lovely and very helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this to anyone and to all ages. Very rewarding as well, seeing your pieces comes to life.

My first pottery class was a total blast. I walked in clueless, but Rachel kept it fun and easy. At one point my piece looked like it had survived a mini earthquake, but she rescued it like a hero. Painting was the best bit my colours were bold, chaotic, and probably illegal, and I loved every second.

What an amazing experience! We loved every second of it ! Rachel and her assistant Cat were amazing , funny and super helpful! Rachel was a hero saving our pots multiple times! It was such a delight to spend few hours with them in Rachel's beautiful studio! I really cannot recommend this experience enough and there's no doubt that we will return for more !

A very fun class, despite our group being total beginners and having some disasters when Rachel’s back was turned (we clearly got ahead of ourselves) we all ended up with a creation to be proud of. Thank you to the staff who really made the experience and made us laugh throughout, it was a great day and we look forward to coming back soon x

Teacher was very knowledgeable and adapted to the students and what they wanted out of their piece. We had half our time on a pottery wheel making either bowls, hug mugs or vases. We then dried them and painted them.
